VOCOIPTV – Live television explained in plain English, set up by you

IPTV Smarters Pro: Install It, Sign In, and Set It Up

The first thing to understand about this app is that it is empty. IPTV Smarters Pro carries no channels, no films and no guide of its own, and a fresh install shows a login screen and nothing else. It is a window, and what you see through it comes entirely from the account you put into it. That is why it is free on every platform, and why the phrase people search for, an IPTV Smarters Pro subscription, describes a product that has never existed. What the app does well is being everywhere: Android, Fire OS, iOS, tvOS, Samsung, LG, Windows and macOS, taking the same three values on each. What it does less well is look the same on all of them. The Samsung and LG builds trail the Android one by some distance, the Fire OS version has to be sideloaded because Amazon does not stock it, and the guide is serviceable rather than good. If you want a guide readable from across a room, that is TiViMate, and only on Android hardware.

Have these to hand before you start

  • Any device from the list below, with a working internet connection
  • Your VOCOIPTV server address, username and password from WhatsApp
  • Five minutes, and somewhere to write the three values down once you have typed them

Do these in order

  1. Decide whether this is the right player for the screen you are holding

It usually is, and there are two cases where it is not. On an Android television with a remote, TiViMate gives a grid guide that this app cannot match, and if you watch live sport that difference is felt nightly. On an older Samsung or LG set, the lighter Smart IPTV may run more smoothly than this one, at the cost of a small fee and a more awkward setup. Everywhere else, and on a first setup anywhere, Smarters is the sensible choice precisely because it is the same app on every screen, so the second television takes two minutes once you have done the first. Decide now, because installing two players and signing into both is how people end up confused about which one is showing the problem.

    Get a login first

  2. Install it by the route your device requires

There are four routes and yours is one of them. On Android TV, Google TV, Android phones and tablets, it comes from the Google Play Store under IPTV Smarters Pro. On a Fire TV Stick, Amazon does not stock it, so it is sideloaded with Downloader, which our Fire TV Stick page covers one press at a time. On a Samsung or LG television, search the store built into the set for IPTV Smarters. On an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, the App Store lists it as IPTV Smarters Player. On Windows or macOS, the installer comes from the developer site. The app is the same in every case, and so is everything below.

  3. Choose the Xtream Codes option, not the playlist one

Open it and accept the terms on the first screen. You are then offered two ways in, and the choice matters more than it looks. Login with Xtream Codes API takes a server address, a username and a password, and pulls down the live channels, the films, the series and the program guide together. Load Your Playlist, the other option, takes an M3U link and in many builds brings the channels without the guide behind them. Take the Xtream option unless support has specifically pointed you at the other one. If your screen shows only the playlist option, the build is old and wants updating.

  4. Type the three values exactly as they were sent

The first box asks for a name and it is a label for your own use, so anything will do. The second is the server address, and this is the field that causes most failures on this page: it begins http:// and ends with a colon followed by the port number, with nothing after it. The third and fourth are the username and password, both case sensitive, so a capital letter typed as a small one will fail with an unhelpful message. If you are pasting from WhatsApp, copy one value at a time and look at what landed, because a copied line often brings a space along with it and a space at the end of a field is invisible. Press Add User.

  5. Let the guide fill, then switch it on over the picture

The app now downloads the channel list, the on-demand library and the program data. The channel list arrives first and the guide takes longer, sometimes several minutes across a list this size, so do not judge it in the first thirty seconds. When it settles, open Settings, then EPG, and switch on the option that shows the guide on live television, which is off by default in most builds. Without it you get channel names with no idea what is on them, which is the most common reason people think the guide has not loaded when it has.

  6. Set the decoder once, and know how to override it

Open Settings, then Player Settings. Set the playback to the built-in player with hardware decoding, which uses the chip in the device rather than its general processor and is what you want nearly all of the time. Leave it there. If one particular channel then stutters while everything else is fine, do not change this global setting: open that channel, bring up the player menu with the center button, and switch that one channel to software decoding. Global changes to fix a single channel are how a working setup gets broken.

  7. Prove it with four checks and one sign-out

Open Live TV and play a news channel for a full minute. Move to a sports channel, which carries several times the data. Open the guide and confirm it shows program names and times for tomorrow, not only tonight. Open the Movies or Series section and confirm titles are listed, because that tells you the Xtream login is pulling everything rather than the channels alone. Then, and this is the step worth the trouble, sign out from the profile screen and sign back in with the same three values. If it comes back without you hunting for anything, the values you have written down are correct, and every other screen in the house will take ten times less time than this one did.

If the screen does not look right

Add User does nothing and the screen stays where it is

The app is refusing silently rather than telling you which field it dislikes. Nine times out of ten it is the server address: check it starts with http:// and that the port number is on the end after a colon. The tenth time it is an invisible space at the end of a pasted username. Clear all the fields and type them by hand once, slowly, rather than correcting what is there. If it still refuses, try the same three values in a browser player from a phone, which tells you immediately whether the problem is the account or this device.

Live TV opens but every category shows zero channels

At first login the app asks which categories to include, and passing it without reading it takes one press and end up including none. Open Settings and look for the option to manage or select categories, switch the ones you want back on, and come out. If your build has no such screen, sign out of the profile and sign in again, taking the category step slowly. Nothing is missing from the account while this is happening; the app is filtering its own view.

The guide is showing programs exactly one hour out

This is a time offset rather than a bad guide, and it happens most often after a clock change. Open Settings, EPG, and look for a time shift or offset option, then move it by one hour in the direction that corrects it. Check the device clock at the same time, because a television set to the wrong region will push everything by the same amount in every app. Reopen the app afterwards for the change to take.

The app closes by itself on a Fire TV Stick

Start with its cache: Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, find it in the list, then Clear Cache, and open it again. If it keeps folding, the install file is older than the Fire OS on the stick, which is common on a stick that has updated itself since you set it up. Remove the app, ask support for the current address, and put the same version everyone else is running on. Your login is unaffected by a reinstall.

The steps above are the same whether you are on the free day or a paid term, so there is nothing to undo later. Tell us it is a Smarters Pro and we will send the three lines that make it work.

Smarters Pro IPTV FAQ

Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?

The app is free on every platform it exists on, and nothing is ever charged inside it. What surprises people is what free means here: you are downloading an empty player, and until an account is entered it shows a login screen and no content of any kind. Any page offering to sell you the app itself, or channels inside the app, is selling something that is not theirs to sell.

What is the IPTV Smarters Pro subscription people talk about?

There is no such product. Somebody searching that phrase is looking for a service that works inside this app, which is what an account here is: an Xtream Codes login carrying the live channels, the films and the series, entered once and then valid on every device you own. The app is free, the account is what you pay for, and the two come from different places.

Should I use this or TiViMate?

Use this where the household has several different kinds of screen, where any of them is an Apple, Samsung or LG device, or where this is the first setup you have done. Use TiViMate if your main television runs Android and you care about the guide, which is most people who watch live sport. TiViMate costs around $9.99 a year for the parts that matter and exists only on Android. The same login works in both, so trying the other one later costs nothing but the time.

Why does the version on my television look different from my phone?

Because they are built separately for each platform and updated at different speeds. The Android and iOS versions move first, the Samsung and LG versions trail by a long way, and menus that exist on one may sit elsewhere or be absent on another. The login is identical across all of them, which is what matters. Where a setting named on this page is missing on your television, it is the build rather than your account, and support can tell you where that version hides it.
